Lawrence Page, B.A., LL.B., K.C.

President & Director

Lawrence Page obtained his law degree from the University of British Columbia in 1964 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 1965 where he has practiced in the areas of natural resource law and corporate and securities law to the present date. Through his experience with natural resource companies and, in particular, precious metals development, Mr. Page has established a unique relationship with financiers, geologists and consultants and has been counsel for public companies which have discovered and developed producing mines in North America. Specifically, he has been a director and officer of companies which have discovered and brought into production the David Bell and Page Williams mines in Ontario, the Snip, Calpine/Eskay Creek and Mascot Gold Mines in British Columbia, as well as the discovery of the Penasquito Mine in Mexico.

He currently serves as a director of four public companies, including Bravada Gold Corporation, Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Equity Metals Corporation and Valterra Resource Corporation.

Robert W.J. Macdonald, MSc., PGeo

Vice President of Exploration

Mr. Macdonald is currently the Vice President of Geological Services for the Manex Resource Group of Companies and in such capacity has been an executive for several publicly listed companies including Equity Metals Corporation, Homestake Resource Corporation (formerly Bravo Gold Corp.) and Southern Silver Exploration Corp., and Exploration Manager for Valterra Resource Corporation, Duncastle Gold Corp. and Fortune River Resource Corp. Mr. Macdonald has overseen the exploration of many projects throughout North America including the discovery and delineation of the high-grade 1.2 million ounce Homestake Ridge Au-Ag deposit in northern British Columbia and is currently advancing Southern Silver’s 23.9 million tonne Cerro Las Minitas Ag-Pb-Zn project, Durango State, Mexico. Mr. Macdonald graduated with a B.Sc. (Hons) from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1990 and earned a MSc. from the University of British Columbia in 1999. Over his career in geosciences, Mr. Macdonald’s work has focused on vein and intrusion-related gold systems, VMS and epithermal environments. Prior to joining Manex, Mr. Macdonald worked as a geologist with the British Columbia Geological Survey and Teck Exploration on projects in Alaska, Peru and British Columbia.

Jay Oness

Vice President of Corporate Development.

Mr. Oness has over 25 years of corporate communications, strategic marketing and corporate development experience and has been a director and officer of numerous publicly traded North American resource companies. Mr. Oness will be responsible for general corporate development, and supporting management to evaluate and execute new investment opportunities.

He is currently serving as the VP of Corporate Development at Malaspina-Manex Group where he is responsible for overseeing, implementing, and managing various corporate functions and shareholder programs for public and private companies.

Killian Ruby, CPA, CA

Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Ruby is the President & CEO of Malaspina Consultants Inc. in Vancouver and focuses on clients in the resource and junior public sector. Mr. Ruby advises clients on matters related to financial management and public company reporting and is particularly adept at handling complex issues and multiple stakeholders with a collaborative, team-based approach. He is also the principal of the Manex Resource Group of Vancouver which provides administrative, financial, corporate, corporate finance and geological services to a number of public companies in the mineral resource sector.

Prior to joining Malaspina, Mr. Ruby was an Assurance Partner at Wolrige Mahon LLP (now Baker Tilly Canada) working predominantly with resource and other junior public companies and formerly was a Senior Manager with KPMG LLP working on a range of public companies and reporting issuers. He holds a BSc. (Accounting) from University College Cork, Ireland, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Corporate Treasury from Dublin City University, Ireland, and received his Chartered Accountant designations from Canada and Ireland in 2010 and 2002, respectively.

Arie Page

Corporate Secretary

Arie Page obtained her law degree in 2004 and was called to the Bar of British Columbia in 2005.  Ms. Page has been working with public resource companies in the minerals sector for over 14 years and currently serves as corporate secretary to several reporting issuers including Bravada Gold Corporation, Pacific Ridge Exploration Ltd., Southern Silver Exploration Corp., Equity Metals Corporation, Valterra Resource Corporation and Velocity Minerals Ltd.

Roger Scammell , BSc (Geology), PGeo (Ontario)

Director

Mr. Scammell has 40 years experience in the mining and exploration industry in North America, México and Guatemala principally with epithermal gold/silver, polymetallic base metal, and nickel and coal deposits.  He was the Country Manager (México) for Teck Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary, Minera Teck S.A. de C.V. from 1992 to 2002.  Under his direction, Minera Teck discovered the 72 million tonne San Nicolas volcanogenic massive sulphide deposit in Zacatecas, México and the El Limon gold skarn in Guerrero, México. From 2004 until December 2010, he was initially the Vice President of Exploration and later President of Scorpio Mining Corporation and its Mexican subsidiary Minera Cosalá.  During this time, he was responsible for administration and execution of the exploration, development and initial production of the Nuestra Señora polymetallic silver mine in Sonora, México as well as supervising the construction of the 1,400 tonne per day flotation mill. 

Nigel Bunting

Director

Nigel Bunting is based in London and an active participant in a number of resource ventures, both public and private. He is a Director of Bravada Gold Corporation and Southern Silver Exploration Corp., both companies quoted on the TSX Venture Exchange. Nigel identifies early-stage opportunities in the resource sector and arranges financings to advance projects to the public market. He is a Director of Anglia Registrars, trading as Inform Direct, which is one of the UK’s leading cloud-based technology companies relating to company formation, administration and secretarial services. He is also a Director of MFB Corporate Member Ltd, an insurance underwriter at Lloyds of London.

Peter Cheesbrough

Director

Mr. Cheesbrough is President of the Exploration Division of The Electrum Group LLC. He has more than 30 years of experience as a senior financial executive of public and private companies in various industries including the mining industry, where he was the Chief Financial Officer of Echo Bay Mines Ltd. Most recently, Mr. Cheesbrough was Chief Financial Officer of ZeaChem, the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for CIBER, a global information technology consulting, services and outsourcing company listed on the NYSE. Mr. Cheesbrough is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, and a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta.

Gina Jones, CPA, CA, CF, ICD.D

Director

Gina Jones is the Chief Financial Officer of PenderFund Capital Management Ltd. Previously, Gina was the Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of an independent brokerage firm in Vancouver, as well as CFO for its US subsidiary. Prior to that, Gina was CFO at two Vancouver investment dealers. Gina holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from UBC, articled with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, and is a CPA, CA and CF, a Chartered Professional Accountant with Corporate Finance specialty designation. She holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Russell Ball

Director

Russell Ball is the former Chief Executive Officer and Executive Chair of Calibre Mining Corp. Previously, Mr. Ball was Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Goldcorp Inc., a role he assumed in March 2016 after initially joining Goldcorp Inc. in 2013 and serving as Executive Vice President of Capital Projects, Strategy and Corporate Development, including oversight of their primary growth projects. Prior to his role with Goldcorp Inc., he served in varying capacities at Newmont Mining Corporation for almost twenty years, culminating with his appointment as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He currently serves on the Board of Trevali Mining Corporation and CopperBank Resources Corp.
